BSO: Technology is a sort of unspoken character on Blacklist. You mentioned community policing and folks on the ground in crisis mode. Does that reliance on social media and technology stimy those efforts and is that point-of-view something that will come up in the future on the show?
HL: It’s something that was always part of the show. We have a tech guy, we know about people on the dark web, we deal with these realities that are happening and I think in a lot of ways we predict or expose how people are going about scamming and defrauding people, compromising security and safety. That’s the way it is and it will continue to be.
BSO: One last question before tonight’s 100th episode, what can you tell us about tonight’s honorary blacklister?
HL: I can tell you for our 100th episode we have the honor of having Nathan Lane is our Blacklister, he plays Abraham Stearn. I can tell you the whole season has had more levity despite the world being on the brink of disaster each week. But that’s real life. We are very pleased to have him. It’s a special episode and that’s the one thing I know for sure. The writers keep the scripts very close to the vest. We never know what’s coming just like the audience.
