The Rockets defeated the Trailblazers 121-112 in Houston last night with Chris Paul having himself a game with 37 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. As Paul was dribbling the ball to end the game, he decided to add one more bucket to his stat sheet. This was after he reached his 16,000 point mark for his career.
After Paul scored the late bucket, Blazers Point Guard Damian Lillard confronted Paul about it and ended up slapping the ball from him as time experied. Lillard finished with 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Paul took to Twitter today to address the situation as he posted a photo of himself honoring his 16,000-point accomplishment with Lillard in the background.
As elite as the Rockets are in 2017, a late game bucket to pad your stats might not be so harmful. Houston stands at 29-11 and second in the Western Conference.
