The long saga of Derrick Rose on and off the court with the Cleveland Cavaliers is looking like it’s heading in a positive direction. During media availability on Wednesday, Rose said he’s feeling good and it looks like he’ll return to the lineup on Thursday against the Magic. Via the Cavaliers official Twitter account, Rose said:
I’m feeling good. Tomorrow looks like it’s a go but I’ll see how I’m feeling tonight and tomorrow morning, make sure my body’s alright. Got to make sure I hydrate, stretch, do all the little things so that tomorrow I give myself a chance to actually play in a game.
The Cavaliers have been struggling of late, and while Rose is nowhere near his former league MVP status, his return could help. He is another ball handler and playmaker. His inability to consistently shoot the three will cause spacing issues, but his presence would give coach Lue more options.
Regardless of how he plays and whether or not the Cavaliers can turn it around, it’ll be good for Rose to get back to playing ball again.
