The Giants and Colts’ season both ended after Week 17 as they both had a brutal 2017. New York finished 3-13 and Indianapolis finished at 4-12. Both fired their head coaches and the search for replacements began immediately.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Giants are eyeing Vikings’ Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur as their next head coach. He is expected to take the job if handed an offer.
According to Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Colts are seeking Patriots’ Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels. The Colts are McDaniels’ first head coaching choice if presented the opportunity. McDaniels has been very hard to steal from New England as he has been hot on the head coaching market since 2012. The last time he was a head coach was with the Broncos for two seasons from 2009-2010.
