New York Knicks Forward Kristaps Porizingis has had an exceptional season as he’s been averaging 23 points and six rebounds per game but ended up being left off as a starter in the upcoming NBA All-Star Game. He lost the spot to Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid, who is averaging 23 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists per game.
Porzingis didn’t receive enough votes from the media and fans but did from fellow NBA players. According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily, he shrugged off the snub and said that the players know the type of player he is.
Despite not getting the starting nod, Porzingis still has a chance to get selected as a reserve. He is focused on getting New York wins and playing well. He believes that the all-star selection this season will come if he focuses on those two goals.
“We’ll see. I would hope so. In my mind, I deserve it,” said Porzingis. “All I got to do is play good and win games and the results will take care of itself. I shouldn’t be too worried about who is going to vote for me and who is not going to vote for me.”
