Recently in an ESPN magazine story, it was said that Tom Brady was happy, seemed liberated that Jimmy Garoppolo was traded to the San Francisco 49ers according to ESPN.
The ESPN Magazine story said,
“Some players and staffers noticed that Brady seemed especially excited, hollering and cajoling.”
Brady was on sports radio WEEI’s The Kirk and Callahan Show Tuesday and responded to those comments from the magazine, saying he celebrated Jimmy G’s departure from New England.
“I think that’s just such a poor characterization of anything. In 18 years, I’ve never celebrated when someone has been traded, been cut, I would say that’s disappointing to hear that someone would express that, or a writer would express that because it’s so far from what my beliefs are about my teammates.”
We get it Brady is a competitor and can be a little bratty on the sidelines but to think he celebrated the backup quarterback being traded seems a bit far-fetched. That’s no disrespect to Jimmy G as he ended the 2017 season well getting some wins with that young San Francisco 49er roster.
Brady said he didn’t read it cover to cover, but believed he understood what was really going on. These are just distractions going on and the champ will respond accordingly come this weekend when the New England Patriots take on the Tennessee Titans.
