It appears everyone loves Floyd Mayweather, even when it’s not clear why sometimes.
The former pound-for-pound king received another prestigious honor, this time for no apparent reason, in a city that he has no ties too.
According to TMZ Sports — Mayweather was honored on January 17 in Oklahoma City — where the date was declared Floyd Mayweather Day.
There were festivities aplenty … including a dinner, followed by a meet-and-greet hosted by industry mover and shaker Karen Civil.
This was no joke people, Floyd received official documents from the state — making the whole thing as official as a referee with a whistle.
Short of attending a few Thunder games, and betting on the Oklahoma Sooners — there’s no true connection between Floyd and OKC, and where’s Kevin Durant’s day?
