We recently published a story on 17-year old Parkland HS shooting victim Joaquin Oliver’s family arranging for Joaquin to be buried in Dwyane Wade’s Heat jersey.
Wade was nearly in tears commenting on the touching tribute. For his part, Wade went on to dedicate his return to Miami as well as the remainder of the Heat’s year to Joaquin:
It’s way BIGGER than basketball. We are the voices for the people that don’t get to be heard. Joaquin Oliver may you Rest In Peace and i dedicate my return and the rest of this Miami Heat season to you. ????????????????????????

In his first game since making the dedication, Wade scored 15 points in 14 minutes en route to a 27-point winning effort against the Sixers.
It wasn’t just any win either. It was a vintage Wade ending.
It was an inspired performance for Wade, who also had Joaquin’s name etched in his sneakers:
