The Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl 52 in an exciting finish last night and the question of which Eagles players would visit Donald Trump’s White House to celebrate in the upcoming months quickly surfaced. Philly has also been one of the most vocal teams in the NFL this season in regards to addressing racial inequality and police brutality in America.
Last week, Eagles Defensive End Chris Long told Barstool Sports’ podcast ‘Pardon My Take‘ that he definitely isn’t going to the White House due to Trump’s actions as president. Long was also part of the Patriots Super Bowl team that won it all a year ago and did not attend the White House visit then either.
Now, Eagles Cornerback Malcolm Jenkins is following in Long’s footsteps of passing up a visit to see Trump. Jenkins appeared on CNN today to discuss with John Berman of any possibility of him attending. Jenkins went on to say that he personally doesn’t anticipate attending the White House visit.
Jenkins also emphasized helping to make positive change in the communities that he comes from along with helping to push for criminal justice reform and edcuational advancement in communities with people of color and people of low income.
