Cris Carter went from getting cut by the Eagles for cocaine & legal problems to carving out a Hall of Fame career with the Vikings. To this day, he credits Eagles head coach Buddy Ryan with saving his career & his life by basically firing him.
Fast forward to today, Carter prides himself on mentoring young NFL stars treading the same line he did. From Adam Jones & Dez Bryant to Tyrann Mathieu & now Odell Beckham Jr., he looks to help steer them back on course seeing them start to veer off.
Beckham seems to be a special case for Carter. As a Hall of Famer, Carter knows the WR position and consistently lauds OBJ with praise for how he plays it. It’s why Carter says Beckham’s latest indiscretions are especially infuriating for him to stomach, in a year Beckham is looking to force the Giants to break the bank for his services.
Carter pleaded for Beckham to call him before he finds himself out of NY, & out of the league altogether if he continues down this road.
