J.J. Watt on Bob McNair comments: 'What I said a while back still stands today, a lot of conversations and dialogues in locker room we've never had before. I think it's opened up a new dialogue. Guys are having meaningful and powerful conversations'

After months of refusing to comment on Bob McNair calling black players “inmates” who kneeled during anthem for social justice, Watt finally decided to speak on it.
He could have strongly condemned the comments and backed up his teammates, but he was very careful with his words. At no point did he say that he disagreed with what McNair said.
JJ Watt says he is a leader and wants to help the community, but seems like he only cares about that when he can look like Captain America in a crisis. On issues that make him uncomfortable and will upset his MAGA fanbase, he is too scared to take a stand.
The reason @JJWatt won’t come out and speak against Bob McNair is because he doesn’t want to offend his MAGA base. Easy to be Captain America during a crisis. Harder when a portion of the America who worships you are also racists #BSOTV pic.twitter.com/9BD58UwkFC
