It’s that time of year, the post-season and if your favorite team didn’t make it, there’s a chance your head coach will be or has been fired. Since the NBA regular season has come to an end two coaches have already been fired. The New York Knicks have fired Jeff Hornacek and less than 24 hours later the Orlando Magic fired Frank Vogel.
Vogel had two seasons with the Magic with a daunting record of 54-110 (32.9 winning percentage). This season the Magic finished 25-57, clearly underachieving with the talent they have. Vogel earned this job and has proven himself in the NBA while coaching the Indiana Pacers. Vogel took the Pacers to consecutive Eastern Conference finals in 2012 and ’13, losing to the Miami Heat both times. He spent six seasons with the Pacers, going 250-181 overall and 31-30 in the playoffs. The same didn’t unfold in Orlando, but let’s look at potential coaches that could replace Vogel.
