Uncommon tension in the San Antonio Spurs locker room has teams around the league licking their chops.
Star forward Kawhi Leonard has only played in nine games for the Spurs this season as he deals with a quad injury that no one seems to really know the status of. Scheduled to return in March, Leonard did not feel that he had fully recovered.
Following a players only meeting where his teammates tried, unsuccessfully, to pump Leonard for information, Tony Parker voiced his frustrations to reporters, saying that his quad injury was “100 times worse” than Leonard’s.
A divide in San Antonio can pay dividends for another team as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reveals that “several” teams will be preparing to take a shot at Leonard this summer.
