The Celtics’ Marcus Morris has been very outspoken prior to the start of his team’s Eastern Conference Finals series vs the Cavs. He also said that he’s the best LeBron stopper aside from Kawhi Leonard.
Morris even had some words about the Pacers and Raptors teams that just lost to LeBron and the Cavs.
“Them dudes can’t guard. That’s what I did pick up,” said Morris to the Washington Post‘s Candace Buckner.
Morris did everything he could to back his own statement of him playing the best defense on James in the entire league as he helped hold him to 15 points on 5/16 shooting in Game 1.
“It’s a team effort,” said Morris. “It’s not just me. Everybody played their part in guarding him. He’s obviously the best player in the game, and you need multiple guys and a team to guard him an entire game. I just think we did a great job of that.”
Morris finished Game 1 with 21 points and 10 rebounds on 7/12 shooting. Game 2 tips off tonight in Boston at 8:30 ET on ESPN.
