National anthem protest was the hotbed topic of this year’s NFL Spring Meetings.
Unable to resolve the issue on Tuesday, owners voted on Wednesday coming to the following resolution, or lack thereof.
Teams are not required to be present on the field; they may remain in the locker room during the anthem. Clubs are free to establish their own rules regarding anthem protests.
If on the field during the anthem, clubs will be fined if any personnel does not show “proper respect for the anthem and flag.”
