Now that the Finals are over, let us focus on the upcoming NBA Draft but before that, let’s make sure we cover one major ground- the new Knicks head coach, David Fizdale.
David Fizdale was introduced May 8, 2018 and since then, there is a new feeling amongst the Knicks and their fans everywhere. Change was necessary but the Knicks are on a trend and have had more head coaches in the past decade. In addition, they had several applicants in mind. At one point, who wasn’t applying for this position?
But the search has come to an end (thankfully) and Fizdale is their guy. Let’s talk about 5 great things we can expect from him.
Building Bonds
During the past Celtics-Cavaliers Eastern Conference Finals, Knicks Emmanuel Mudiay shared a video of Fizdale, himself, Frank Ntilikina, and Damyean Dotson at the game. We’re unsure if there was a strategy behind that game but the one thing we’re sure of is that it shows a bond- a coach and his players watching, taking notes because they intend on reaching that level. These two work hand in hand.
Fizdale said that even Joakim Noah, who has been MIA since February, reached out to him and congratulated him about the position.
To add to that, Kristaps Porzingis tweeted his excitement as well. All in all, some bonds are being built and that’s something worth getting excited over.
Just had a great conversation on the phone with Coach Fiz. Man im excited!!!!! Lets gooo!!! 🔶🔷
