NBA Live has always seemed to be the underdog of virtual basketball, insisting on stiff graphics and limited options. This year they plan on stepping it up, adding an interesting feature: global expansion. NBA Live 19 plans on expanding “The Streets” and “The League” modes to international street and professional courts.
EA executive producer of NBA Live Seann Graddy says they wanted to make it “relevant to what the players do away from the league”, like when Klay Thompson spent time in China to celebrate his international shoe deal or LeBron James renovating a basketball court for displaced children in the Philippines.
More features include Real Player Motion, interactive environments, more awareness and personalities among players (through AI), and Build Your Squad – the ability to craft your own team through completing missions and earning players, both past and present.
NBA Live 19 will be released on September 7.
