Michael Jordan had one of the best storybook endings to his illustrious NBA career during the 1998 NBA Finals. And yes, we are not counting the Washington Wizards days. Returning on Thursday are the shoes he wore in the iconic Game 6 against the Utah Jazz, the “Last Shot” Air Jordan 14s.
What would ultimately become Jordan’s last shot as a Chicago Bull would also become one of his most legendary. Down one with 10 seconds left on the clock in Game 6 of the 1998 Finals, MJ shook off his defender and elevated in a single motion, sinking the now infamous 20-foot jumper. The AJ XIV’s became synonymous with the “last shot”, which sealed him his 6th NBA Title and his 6th Finals MVP, a perfect swan song for his inimitable career.
The sneakers will release at select Nike and Jordan Brand retailers on Thursday, June 14. Retail price for mens sizes are $190. US retailers will be launching the shoes online at 10 a.m. EST, while European retailers will release at 3 a.m. EST.
