Recently, Damon Dash approached Lee Daniels at a Diana Ross concert for still not paying him back $2 million that he owes him for helping launch Daniels’ career. While he was approached, he guaranteed Dash that he would get his millions back in return.
In an interview with TMZ, Daniels stood by his promise. This comes after Dash is suing Daniels for $5 million. This includes the interest added on to the original $2 million owed.
“It made me think,” said Daniels. “I can tell he was hurt. When nobody in Hollywood was giving me money after my Academy Award with Halle Berry, Damon’s crazy ass was crazy enough to give me money for Into The Woods and Shadowboxer. I looked him into the eyes and told him he would get his investment back. This black man gave me money when no one else would. He deserves his money. I’ll work something out for him. It’s only right to do.”
Daniels continued to praise Dash as he said he didn’t know if he would be successful if it weren’t for him. Flip the page for the full clip of Daniels addressing the situation with TMZ.
