The Sixers have had enough of GM Bryan Colangelo tweeting hate at his players such as Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz on burner accounts on Twitter and will finally make a decision on his future within the next 24-48 hours, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Rob Lopez of Def Pen Sports.
The Ringer’s Ben Detrick also noted that Colangelo was tweeting from five separate accounts. USA Today’s Jeff Zillgitt reported that Colangelo’s wife Barbara had a phone number connecting to three of the burner accounts. He also bashed members of Philly’s coaching staff and revealed information about Jahlil Okafor’s injuries.
Colangelo’s possible actions come as a shock considering how much success the Sixers saw this season. They were 52-30, the fourth seed in the East, and made it to the second round of the playoffs where they fell against the Celtics. The accounts belonging to his wife could proclaim Bryan’s innocence.
Colangelo’s tenure in Philly is most likely over if he is found to be guilty of the burner accounts. The Sixers must find out whether it was him or Barbera ASAP. Bryan has done a great job of putting the Sixers in position to be NBA Finals contenders and seeing this success end due to him being guilty without any proof would be shocking.
