Update on Andre Iguodala’s Knee Injury & When Can You Expect to See Him in Finals

The Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The series shifts to Cleveland on Wednesday night for game 3. The Warriors look to be in control and are halfway to their third title in four years and first back-to-back. As if things couldn’t get worse for the Cavs it looks like 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala is nearing a return for the Warriors.

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Iggy has been pain-free in his injured knee for three days and is progressing towards a return very soon. Iggy went through an entire personal workout before Sunday’s game two and sprinted for the first time since suffering the bone bruise in his knee.

Whatever the versatile forward can give the Warriors at this point is icing on the cake. He can help Draymond Green and Kevin Durant defending LeBron James, though that probably won’t slow James down a bit as he is dominating this postseason. But, any opportunity that will allow Draymond to roam on defense and give KD a break on offense so he can continue to wreak havoc on the offensive end is problematic for the Cavaliers.

Iggy says he hopes he can play in game three but he will wait until given the all-clear from the medical staff.
