After A Bizarre Season, Joakim Noah Sets The Record Straight On Future With Knicks

Last season was a memorable one for the Knicks. Joakim Noah checked out from the Knicks around February and it was labeled a “mutual separation.” Now, Noah has decided to set the record straight and said that he loves New York as he desires to play for the Knicks.

“I love New York,” is a phrase that many use and it’s one that now has been said by Joakim Noah. Perhaps its influenced by the new head coach David Fizdale but it seems like there is room for reparations as Noah expressed that he wants to play for New York. Fizdale did mention that he would want to meet with Noah in the offseason.

“I love New York,” Noah said when asked in a brief interview with TMZ Sports if he wants to stay with the Knicks. “For sure,” he added when asked again.

To make a trade happen is possible but which team would want to also carry the burden of his hefty contract? For reminder, he still has 2 years left on his 4-year contract worth $72 million. You can still give your opinion on how ridiculous this contract was. But alas, let’s learn to move on as it’s in the past. Since he joined the Knicks, he was injury-plagued and then suspended. As a few league sources have said, nothing has changed but he does seem quite optimistic to return.

Today, the Knicks announced the preseason schedule. If the Noah still wants to remain apart of this Knicks squad, he better do it fast because time is running out.
