It would serve Steve Keim to think twice before name-dropping in future sticky situations.
TMZ.com obtained the body-cam footage of the Cardinals general manager being pulled over and cited for a DUI on the 4th of July. Keim was reportedly swerving as he drove and nearly hit a curb and during roadside questioning, said he only had two drinks with pizza, refused the breathalyzer, and attempted to name drop a cop he knew.
Deadspin.com goes on to say he Keim misrepresented himself to officers.
Keim then identified himself by name but said he was “the director of security for the Arizona Cardinals,” according to the report. Keim then told the officer he “works with Sean McKenzie.” However, the officer noted that “the only Officer Sean McKenzie I know was killed in an off duty vehicle collision and I believed he was referencing him.” McKenzie died in an off-duty motorcycle accident in 2014, according to multiple reports.
