Last night during the MLB All-Star Game, old racist and homophobic tweets surfaced from Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader’s Twitter account. He blamed the tweets from rap lyrics but that wasn’t believeable at all considering the fact that he said n*gger.
Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Hader will be put in sensitivity training and it will focus on diversity. MLB put out a press release today discussing how they found out about the tweets last night and wanted to take action against him immediately.
Hader will face no suspension from Milwaukee. Hader made the excuse that he was young and dumb at 17 but that’s not an excuse to be racist and homophobic. The Brewers definitely slid this under the rug with no real punishment handed down for the tweets.
Brewers’ teammate Lonzo Cain, who is black, said that Hader is a great guy and that he’s open to giving Hader a second chance.
