Carmelo Anthony opted into his $29 million contract for this season and the Thunder just don’t want to pay him that amount of money in this point in his career. OKC and Melo are expected to part ways soon and there should be plenty of suitors for Melo.
One team that will be interested is the Houston Rockets, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. This move would make sense for Houston considering the fact that they lost SF Trevor Ariza to the Suns in free agency. Ariza was one of the best defenders on the team.
Melo has come out saying that he still wants to be a starter. That could be a reality for him as he might replace Ariza in Houston’s lineup.
