The shell of Adrian Peterson is still hanging around this NFL.
After uneventful stops in New Orleans & Arizona, Peterson was signed to Washington & now that he’s on a team, he wants you to know you’re a hater & don’t know football if you think he fell off.
When asked what he thought about people who say he’s washed up, here’s how he responded:
Via The Washington Post:
“It shows me people don’t really know about football,” Peterson said. “I feel like people that know the game of football know different situations a player might be in. So when people go back and say, ‘Oh, 2.4 yards per carry,’ there’s a lot that contributes to that as well. I just brush it off. And I continue to work because at the end of the day I control my output. So that’s why I continue to work hard. I knew an opportunity would present itself. And at the end of the day, God’s willing, stay healthy, the guys up front stay healthy as well, I know that I’ll be able to contribute in a big way in the run game.”
Peterson is a Hall of Fame running back, but if he keeps playing he’s going to ruin the visual legacy of how great he was in his prime.
At the same time, if teams are still willing to give him contracts, hey man, get your money. I just hope this story doesn’t end with the game forcing him out after he’s had multiple chances to walk away on his feet.
