In LA, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and more had a huge pickup game and one notable NBA star who was disappointed that he wasn’t there was Pistons Center Andre Drummond. One reason he wished he was there was because of KD, who he views as the best pickup hooper ever, in an interview with TMZ Sports.
Drummond said KD is fun to watch and that him being unguardable is what makes him the best out there. Drummond also commended KD on handling and shooting the ball well. He said that it’s very difficult to contest his shots.
KD is on an honorable list of some of the best 1-on-1 NBA players of all time. I think Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James fall ahead of him but he is still in the top four regardless. Jordan had the killer’s instinct as he knew where his hot spots were and would knock down a jumper in anyone’s face. Kobe Bryant had the same similar killer instinct that Jordan had. Bryant was an excellent shooter but wasn’t afraid to get dirty as he was also effective in drawing calls in the paint. LeBron James is just a walking freight train. His inhuman size and strength has worked to his advantage over the last decade. His mid-range game has always been solid but later in his career, learned to develop an efficient three-point game. His sheer strength also works to his advantage when getting to the free throw line. Most of the time, that and-one shot always falls for the king. KD hasn’t always been the strongest player on the court but being seven feet along with his ridiculous wingspan have contributed to his ability to be able to find a shot from everywhere on the court, as evident in the previous two NBA Finals.
