Popular Chicago Rapper Fredo Santana was found dead in Los Angeles back in January. It was originally found that Santana passed shortly after a epileptic seizure, per TMZ. Now according to The Chicago Tribune, the official cause of death revealed that Santana died from idiopathic epilepsy.
The LA coronary passed on this information to officials in Chicago. It was also added that Santana had been using prescription Keppra, which helps fight against chronic seizures. He was known to have drank lean frequently and that prescription would have helped him fight against the effects of it. Santana had also been battling the effects of Xanax at the time, according to a medical examiner’s report.
Seizures continued to be common for Santana but he never seeked help for it. He did say that he was getting treatment for kidney and liver failure last fall though.
Santana made a name for himself in Chicago by collaborating with fellow major artists in the city such as Chief Keef and Lil Reese. The three elevated the popular drill music sound in their hometown.
