Remember how exciting it was to stroll into school on the first day with your freshest attire and brand new supplies, ready to reunite with old friends and looking forward to making new ones?
Well, that excitement quickly turned sour as 6-year-old Clinton Stanley, Jr was turned away because of his dreadlocks. School administrators at A Book’s Christian Academy in Apopka, FL told Clinton Stanley, Sr that his son’s dreadlocks were a violation of school policy.
Sr was overtaken with emotion as Jr stood outside the door, clothed in his uniform. At one point, the child asked his dad if he could put his hair into a ponytail. Clinton Sr. offered to braid the dreads up but was told by a school official that the hair had to be cut above the ears.
After capturing the interaction on Facebook Live, Clinton Stanley Sr un-enrolled his son and enrolled him at a public school.
