Johnny Manziel will get his first start Friday in the Canadian Football League. This news according to ESPN was announced Tuesday that Manziel would start against his former team the, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Coach Mike Sherman gave some details about a potential start on Monday.
“We didn’t trade for Johnny to have him sit on the bench, so obviously, Johnny’s come over here to get reps and become the best player he can become, and we stated that process today. You probably all figured it out yourself, but when you have two players you wait till game time to make that announcement.”
With Manziel being traded to the 1-5 Montreal Alouettes maybe he can make a name for himself. Getting back to the NFL might be a long shot at this point but Manziel now has the opportunity to prove his doubters wrong. The last time Manziel started was December Dec. 27, 2015, a Week 16 Cleveland Browns loss versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Manziel is one step closer to getting back in the NFL and it starts Friday night, he can show he’s improved and deserves another chance in the NFL.
