The return of two of the UFC’s biggest stars to the Octagon is being met with mixed reactions from not the fan but the fighters.
During Friday’s announcement of UFC 229, headlined by Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov, and UFC 230, headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier, was met with a lukewarm to a downright disgusted reaction from Nate Diaz.
After leaving the press conference in the middle of the announcement, TMZ caught up with Diaz outside the Orpheum Theater and asked why he left.
Diaz is upset, claiming White has been “bad-mouthing” him by saying he’s turned down multiple fight offers over the past 2 years. Nate insists he’s “never turned down a fight in my life.”
Diaz says he finally settled his lawsuit last month and can fight again — which is why he agreed to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 in November.
He also had choice pet names for UFC 229 headliners Conor and Khabib, both of whom he fought before.
