Nike and Colin Kaepernick have been winning point blank ever since their Just Do It campaign was announced a few weeks ago. Millions of dollars are coming in and white supremacists are doing everything possible to boycott wearing the shoes just because Kaepernick protested against racism and police bruality.
Actress Jenifer Lewis also voiced her support for Kaepernick prior to tonight’s Emmys awards ceremony. She told Variety that her all-Nike outfit which features a red and black long sleeve shirt with the logo along with a pair of black and white shoes are for applauding Kaepernick for protesting these injustices. The outfit is also custom-made.
When asked about the idea for the outfit, Lewis said that she was swimming a few days ago and thought about something meaningful to wear. She quickly thought about Nike and wanted to thank them for leading the resistance. She also called out the rest of corporate America to stand up to these issues. She concluded by thanking Kaep for being brave and courageous.
