The Steelers had a nail-biting 30-27 win over the Bucs on the road on Monday Night Football as they were able to hold off a rally by Tampa Bay QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Nonetheless, Pittsburgh was able to get their first win of the season and improve to 1-1-1.
CB Joe Haden of the Steelers revealed on social media about a very interesting situation following the end of the game. He was told by the team that when they landed in Pittsburgh, he had to have a random drug test. It was 3AM at the time.
Haden said that six other Steelers were tested as well, including Kicker Chris Boswell. Like Haden, other Steelers were caught off guard by the request.
“We did it right at the airport, right when we land,” said Haden.(Via ESPN) “We go into basically where TSA would check us out. This dude is sitting there, we have a bathroom, and we do it just like the training room but we’re sitting in the damn lobby.”
It’ll be interesting to see what explanation the Steelers give (if it actually happens) regarding why those random tests were conducted and if it’ll be a new policy going forward.
