It looks like women’s tennis may have found the next superstar. Fresh off her first grand slam victory in the 2018 US Open Final this past Saturday, Naomi Osaka has agreed to terms with her current brand Adidas on an endorsement deal that will make her the highest paid female athlete in Adidas history. SB Nation broke the news Wednesday.
FYI
Adidas is going to invest heavily in Naomi Osaka, 20 years old. According to the Times, the US Open champion should become the best-paid tennis player for Adidas in history, about us $8.5 million a year

As reported by The Times, the contract renewal for Osaka will net her approximately £6.5 million (approximately $8.5 million) a year once her current contract expires at the end of 2018. This new megadeal will catapult Osaka to the upper echelon of Forbes’ highest paid female athletes list. However, she would still trail Serena Williams despite this contract and her US Open paycheck, as Williams is currently under contract with Nike. The Times and SB Nation also reports that Osaka is due bonuses from Yonex, Citizen, and Nissin Food Groups, while setting herself up to ask for even more from new sponsors who hope to hop on the Osaka train while her star is still rising.
