Fathead just surveyed 2,000 people in relationships. We discovered that sports fandom is twice as likely to have a positive effect on relationships as a negative one. Other surprising results:
- 1 in 3 women has pretended to like a sport to please a potential romantic partner.
- For many fans, it’s more important to have a partner who roots for the same team than who shares their religious or politicalviews.
- Men are twice as likely as women to watch sports alone, but not necessarily by choice.
- 30.8% of men wish their partner was more interested in sports. Many would be willing to gain 10 pounds or add 20 minutes to their commute if their partner would share their interest in sports.
- Sports rivalries are more of a dating dealbreaker for women than men. 21.9% of female fans wouldn’t date someone who supports a rival team.
- The bedroom is the most common place where people keep
