The San Francisco 49ers are facing the wrath of social media after releasing a collection of photos depicting great moments in the team’s history but failed to include Colin Kaepernick.
Pro Football Talk reports the gallery captures 48 of the greatest moments in the 49ers’ history against the Packers but failed to mention three outstanding performances by Kaepernick during playing time.
After receiving feedback on the collection, the organization acknowledged the mistake and issued the following statement.
“Unfortunately there were a handful of obvious misses in this gallery posted by our website team and we appreciate them being brought to our attention,” the team said in a statement. “The 49ers organization has tremendous respect and gratitude for the contributions Colin made to our team over the years. We have fond memories of those games and that should have been displayed on our website. This oversight does not properly reflect the appreciation our ownership and this team have for Colin.”
If the oversight does not reflect the appreciation and ownership of the team, who’s responsibility was it to make sure the collection is an accurate reflection of the 49ers and Packers playing history?
