Michael Vick’s father Michael Boddie has been sentenced to five years in prison for his involvement in a heroin ring that he ran in his home state of Virginia, according to The Virginia Pilot. He originally pleaded guilty in June.
Boddie was originally indicted with 12 people a year ago on these charges. Court documents stated that recorded conversations caught him discussing the heroin distribution. Boddie’s attorney James Ellenson revealed that he only participated in this ring due to his own battles with drug abuse.
Boddie and Ellenson attempted to go come to an agreement on a shorter sentences but were denied. Ellenson also asked for Boddie to serve his sentence at a different facility.
Hopefully Boddie gets the help that he needs and betters himself once he is released.
