Le’Veon Bell was suspected of returning to the Steelers from his contract holdout after their bye week but that won’t be the case at all. He wants a long-term deal and not the constant franchise tags that Pittsburgh has been trying to hand him over the last couple seasons.
James Connor has been replacing Bell and has had a solid season. He has been speaking very highly of Bell in his absense as well. Connor revealed on FS1’s First Things First that every time he gets back to the locker room from games, he would always receive texts from Bell congratulating him on his effort.
“Me and Le’Veon are super cool,” said Connor. “He’s a great person. With him holding out, people are going to call him selfish, but that’s not the case at all. It’s just business, and that’s my guy.”
Connor has 453 rushing yards and seven touchdowns for the Steelers this season. Pittsburgh currently stands at 3-2 and third in the AFC North. As for Bell, hopefully he gets the money that he deserves. He’s arguably the best RB in the NFL.
