The Giants lost a devastating game to the Panthers today after Graham Gano knocked down a 63-yard field goal to take the 33-31 win as time expired. Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. caught eight passes for 131 yards and a touchdown along with throwing a 57-yard bomb to Running Back Saquon Barkley. Despite the effort, Beckham still questioned the offense’s play as he said they lacked heart after the game.
Beckham Jr. would go on to have a private meeting with Manning, Head Coach Pat Shurmer, and the rest of his teammates. Despite his comments questioning his team’s effort, he has no regrets about them and thinks they helped bring positive energy to the locker room.
“I don’t regret anything,” said Beckham Jr.(Via ESPN) “I don’t regret anything that I said. If it took that for us to come together as a team like we did. I can take that every single time.” “It’s been on my heart. And I think all the stuff that was built up inside, it just kinda — it came out in the wrong way. And I texted [Shurmur] and I asked if I could have a minute to just talk to the team, because I feel like if we’re not all on the same page . If it’s not authentic and real, and we can all understand each other, then there’s always gonna be miscommunication.”
New York now drops to 1-4 on the season after many expected them to return to the playoffs. They will face their division rival Eagles who are 2-3 this Thursday.
