Ronda Rousey believes the UFC is playing favorites when it comes to the treatment of Conor McGregor vs. the treatment of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Speaking to TMZ, Rousey says throwing something a bus full of people (McGregor) is far worse then jumping out of the Octagon at a fight (Khabib). She also says if the UFC is going to punish Khabib, they should punish McGregor just as harshly.
“I think that Khabib jumping out of the Octagon was not as bad as throwing objects at a bus, because my friend Rose Namajunas was on that bus. My friend, Michael Chiesa, missed his fight because [he got cut by the glass].”
“I think, if you’re gonna draw the line there, you should have drawn it before that.”
“I just feel like there has to be equal treatment all the way across the board. I don’t think that anyone should get special treatment because they’re a bigger draw.”
Ultimately, Rousey says her critique comes from a place of love for the sport and her desire for it to grow and adds she’s not the promoter of a multi-million dollar organization.
