Former 10-year NFL veteran Kellen Winslow Jr. had a solid career making a name for himself particularly with the Browns but is now facing serious legal issues. He is facing accusations from three women that say he kidnapped and raped them. He appeared in court in San Diego on Tuesday and is maintaining his innocence.
Charges that Winslow is facing are kidnapping and forcible rape felonies. A guilty verdict would result in a life sentence. The incidents involving two of the women date back to June. The third says Winslow raped her when she was unconscious 15 years ago. Two are 54 and 58-years old and are homeless.
“To the people who know me out there, who know what type of person I am, know my character, my NFL friends and family, just my regular friends and family … they know who I am,” said Winslow to Fox 5. And I’m an innocent guy. I’m an innocent man.”
Winslow also added that he thinks the three women are just trying to get money out of the case as he refers to it as a “money grab.” He said this is simply the society we live in now.
