Let the good times roll? That’s what many have been saying as the Knicks have won three in a row. But looking at the bigger picture, what can we expect from the team as 2018 is almost over?
The struggle to bring some games to an end isn’t even the word but the fact that this young team refused to give up is the winner. Many predicted that the Knicks might win 26 or 27 games. After winning three in a row as coach David Fizdale returned to his former team in Memphis, everyone was all smiles.
Winning three solid games in a row and against great teams, what can we expect the team to do in the last remaining 5 weeks of the year? The team has shown immense improvement. Looking ahead at their schedule, it’s only going to get more competitive- but that’s what this team needs in order to learn.
A few pieces of the puzzle are coming together as Enes Kanter delivered and most likely, read a few tweets about him. You can expect Fizdale to continue mixing up the lineups because in all honesty, this right now is still in the experimentation stage.
The rookies are trying to figure themselves out but Allonzo Trier is right at home as he continues to shine. Trier was superb as they beat the Pelicans. As far as Kevin Knox and Mitchel Robinson are concerned- improvement will come.
The big question is, when are we regularly going to see Damyean Dotson? One can hope that we expect him gracing the lineup pretty soon.
So, to answer the question poised in the title, we can expect the Knicks to take it day by day because the topic of the eighth seed is still out of reach.
The Knicks face Detroit tomorrow night at 7 pm, EST.
