The Lakers defeated the Mavs 114-113 on Halloween but are still off to a slow 3-5 record after starting the season 0-3. We haven’t heard much from LaVar Ball lately but now he’s back at it again with criticism against LA and Head Coach Luke Walton.
Ball recently told Sky Sports that he could coach this Lakers team with his eyes closed. He is still sticking to his prediction that LA will win a championship this season and that if they need help shooting, he’d coach them.
“If you have Lonzo and you have the best player in the world, which is LeBron James, how do you not win a championship?” said Ball.
Ball also thinks that his son Lonzo and LeBron James should be in the game for all 48 minutes while the rest of the lineup rotates. He feels that this gives the Lakers the best opportunity to win games.
“If you have a guy that’s your second pick and you have the best player in the world, don’t take him out of the game. Leave him in the game and rotate the three other guys around him.”
Ball also offered a theory on how to knock off the Warriors. Speed is the key factor in dethroning them.
“There’s only one way to beat the Golden State Warriors — it’s to go faster than them,” he added. “If you have length and speed, you can beat them.”
Ball has had some crazy comments over the past year and a half but a lot of times, they proved to be effective. It’ll be interesting to see if Walton takes some of Ball’s advice and makes this turnaround for the Lakers.
