Once upon a time, Titus Young was selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In actuality, that wasn’t too long ago, but it feels like a century since the last time you’ve heard his name.
Well, the troubled former wide receiver has been behind bars for nearly two years, but he was released early Saturday morning. Young was arrested for a violent assault, where he allegedly beat down a guy that later caused serious bodily damage.
Earlier in the year, Young released a series of posts documenting his struggle with mental health.
“My fight or flight in my brain was off and that could be due to head trauma suffered while playing football,” Young wrote. “All I know now is I’m back to normal and I take good medication and I’m not ashamed of it either.
During the final year and some change, Young spent his time in the California Health Care Facility. This provided Young with medical care and mental health treatment.
As Young moves on to the next chapter in his life, we wish him nothing but the best.
