The BIG3 will be entering it’s third season this summer. With each passing season, the league continues to grow in interest from former players and popularity amongst fans.
However, Co-Founder, Ice Cube, will never get complacent. His goal is to always improve the product. With that being said, he made a major annoucement.
“In order to meet that growing interest, the league needs to expand and we are excited to be taking this important next step so early in our existence.”
For the first two years, the league operated with eight teams. Now, it will expand to 12 teams, which means games will touch 18 cities this go around.
Last year, the BIG3 reached 12 cities.
Also, basketball legend Lisa Leslie joins the league as a head coach. Now, Leslie and Nancy Lieberman are the only female coaches of men’s professional basketball teams.
