Luke Walton on Lonzo & Ingram Lacking Passion

Heading into their Christmas showdown against the defending chamipon Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers were one of the top four teams in the west. Since LeBron James’ departure, the Lakers are a mere (1-5) and fliritng with playing themselvs out of the playoffs.

A couple days ago, LeBron was listed as day-to-day, but until he has a serious injury, I’m not buying that LeBron can’t play.

Nonetheless, head coach Luke Walton has to work with what he has. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be enough as the Lakers were dominated by the Timberwolves to the tune of  108-86.

Following the game, Luke had some interesting things to say about Ball and Ingram.

“They’re trying, but they’re young,” Walton said of Ball and Ingram, both just 21 years old. “At some point, we need more passion. We need more fight. And that’s not scoring more. That’s more diving for loose balls, communicating loudly, grabbing [rebounds].

The Lakers are currently the eighth seed in the crowded west.
