According to Buzzfeed, GoFundMe is planning on refunding more than $20 million to hundreds of thousands of #MAGA supporters, who donated to help fund Trump’s wall. Brian Kolfage initially created this ambitious “We The People Will Build The Wall” project, and provided:
100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall. If for ANY reason we don’t reach our goal we will refund your donation.
Unfortunately, the goal was $1 billion, so they missed their target by about a cool $980 million. Most likely because building a wall from the west tip of California, through the most bottom part of Texas is extremely expensive.
So, Kolfage tried to be sneaky and change the campaign’s original promise. Then, GoFundMe caught the veteran mid finesse, shut his operation down, and is giving everyone their money back. Kolfage is no stranger to missing the mark either. He’s probably most widely remembered for falsely accusing Barack Obama of being a pedophile. He’s actually permanently suspended from Facebook.
Similarly, Trump’s original plan was for Mexico to pay for the wall, but Mexico said no, so that plan didn’t work either. Now, Trump is trying to get Congress to use government funds to pay for his wall by withholding everybody’s paychecks. So apparently Mexico is off the hook now too…
