We all grew up watching Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao dominating fighter after fighter during their prime. Both are older now and their primes way behind them. Floyd Mayweather is still fighting, even fighting Conor McGregor of the UFC in the ring. Of course Pacquiao is still fighting, but one thing is missing from his previous fights of the last 9 years, the expected knockouts.
That’s right, one of the most feared boxers ever went nearly 9 years without a knockout, finally getting one in July with his victory over Lucas Matthysse.
Now what is his goal at 40 years old, fighting Adrien Broner on the 19th of January? None other than achieving a knockout.
“I am not making a prediction, but my goal is to knock out Broner,” said Pacquiao,
“I am looking for a knockout against Broner. I have to maximize the opportunity. I forgot how much fun winning a fight by knockout was until I stopped Lucas Matthysse last summer to win the WBA (secondary) welterweight title.” via ESPN
We can only watch and see if Pacman can knockout Matthysse and achieve that goal he has.
