In the NFL, we’ve seen many below average QBs get jobs over Colin Kaepernick the last few years such as Nathan Peterman and Colt McCoy. The latest is now former 3x Pro Bowler Matt Hasslebeck, who is now 43.
According to Kevin Clark of The Ringer, Hasslebeck got a call from a anonymous team that was supposedly a playoff contender this season about suiting up at QB for them. He still hasn’t said who that team was who so desperately needed his services when a fresh Kaepernick was still available. Hasselbeck was asked if he was still in shape and could play ASAP.
Hasslebeck last played for the Colts in 2015. He had 1,690 yards and nine touchdown passes. It’s almost certain that Kaepernick can make these numbers look silly. He’s better than any backup QB in the league and cans start on plenty of teams.
