This might be the best analogy I have ever heard from a player who wants to cash out on the biggest deal possible.
Dak Prescott was asked would he consider giving the Cowboys a hometown discount considering how many other key players they have to play and here was his answer via USA Today.
Prescott doesn’t see Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s team-friendly deal, for which he made just $15 million last season, as a blueprint for his own.
“Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,” Prescott said of Brady’s supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, who earned $10 million in 2018 and $17.5 million in 2017, per reports. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have.
“So in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.”
The Cowboys are in a tough spot. Prescott is not a bad quarterback by any means, but what is his ceiling? Is he destiny to just be another Tony Romo or Kirk Cousins? Can he take the next step and become a quarterback that can take you to the Super Bowl?
No one really knows. The key to the Cowboys is Ezekiel Elliott, he makes Prescott’s job easier, but as we saw in the Super Bowl your QB still has to make plays when it comes down to crunch time. Prescott has been good with 4th quarter comebacks, so we just have to see how it all shakes out.
